St John the Baptist ChurchSt John the Baptist Church, Campsea Ashe, is an interesting Church, with parts relating to various centuries. Passing through the 20th century lychgate, given by the villagers to commemorate the coronation of King George 6th. in 1937. You immediately see the tall 14th century tower. As you enter the tall well proportioned 14th century inner door you see, under the demi angel-carbels supporting the tower arch, the 14th century font. Church NaveThe red brick vestry dates from Tudor times. The organ chamber, just before the vestry on the north side of the chancel, was added during the 1800s. During the 1869 restoration the chancel and porch were faced by flint and arches of squared knapped flint worked over the windows.

The first Vicar is recorded as being appointed in 1312.
