Boules / Petanque Court
With the generous funding of East Suffolk Council, Suffolk County Council as well as support from our pub The Duck and Botanica Plant Nursery, the Village Hall Committee together with the Parish Council finished the main build project in April 2024, that included an enlargement of the car park.
Our first village team, the ASHE DIEBACKS are playing in the Suffolk Petanque League. Anyone is welcome to join (contact Captain Todd or just come to our - admittingly rare - training sessions.
Villagers are welcome to create more teams of neighbourhoods or friends, which might enable us to host village tournaments.
For those with keen interest, we are aiming to meet every 2nd & 4th Monday evening from 18.30 (weather permitting) for a round of Boules and hope we will be able to field a Village Team soon!
Otherwise just have fun and play with family and friends on a sunny evening, whilst enjoying a drink from the Duck!

How to use the court
We currently envisage that there will be no bookings, unless the demand might dictate otherwise. The Duck is holding two sets of boules balls, which you will be able to loan against a small deposit . The Village Hall will also keep two sets, which can be accessed via Kate Hayward (see under Vilage Hall & Recreation Ground/village-hall-and-play-area)
A set of Short Rules are available, with the League conforming rules being published shortly.
Please look after the court and our precious play area!
